This book has been updated to merge two into one. The first book "My History of Abuse" is about the very few things I remember form my childhood. I have been diagnosed with PTSD that has left me with little to no memories before the age of 18. Due to these large gaps in my memory it is not the longest book, but it was written to show readers that they are not alone. I went through enough things that my mind has decided they were too painful for me to remember. I want to share that with you in hopes that you can take some small comfort from it. The second half of the book is kind of a, "my life after abuse" story. It is not a guide map to help you through your road to recovery. It's a story for you to hear so that you can see there may be some silver linings in the clouds. I'm not cured, and I still face unique challenges in my day to day life. I am happy with how my life has turned out, and I have made the most of the situation that I was given. There will still be details on the difficulties I face so that others may see that anxiety doesn't make them abnormal. There will also be stories of the good things I have built for myself. Trying to improve your life really isn't useless, no matter how much it feels like it is. This book is your you as well as for me. Writing it, editing it, and really thinking about things does help. I suggest you do the same as you are able to really analyze things in the comfort of your own home. No one judging you as you put down your thoughts. I do also know that being around other people can make you feel alone. Seeing how happy they are, the friends they have, and how close their families are. Feeling alienated every holiday when your co-workers ask what your plans are. That awkward moment when you explain your plans are small. You're not the only one going through hard things in life, and sometimes hearing the tales of others can bring some level of comfort. I am not a professional, and you should not take anything in this book as advice. This is simply me sharing my story with you.
